Rainelle Ready To Celebrate With Fall Festival

The town of Rainelle is preparing to once again say goodbye to summer with a day of crafts, yard sales, special attractions and musical performers including Rick K and The Allnighters during the annual Rainelle Fall Festival.

This year, the band Rick K and The Allnighters will return as the festival’s feature attraction after falling in love with the area during their past performances. Their first appearance in the community was during the Rainelle All School Reunion in 2006 where they thrilled many alumni as they played musical hits from the past to the present. The band will perform on the day of the festival, Saturday, August 31, at 7:30 pm at Heritage Park beside town hall.

In addition to that performance, the North Carolina band Eyes of Emiline will take the Heritage Park stage from 1-3 PM as a return appearance from the centennial celebration in April.

Members of the Greenbrier Humane Society will be on hand for all festival goers who wish to adopt a pet, or just think about the addition of a new family member. Also, representatives of West Virginia Waggin’ Tails will be present, as well as parade favorites Llamas in Pajamas.

There will be crafts and yard sales from 9am until 5 pm and free various stage performances beginning at 10 AM.

“Over the years, we in Rainelle have been working hard to bring family, friends and the community together,” said Rainelle Mayor Andrea Pendleton. “We thank those who put in countless hours and who volunteer to help make this festival possible. Come out and enjoy the day in Rainelle.”

It is possible that a gospel performance will take place on Sunday after the festival, but plans have not yet been set into place, according to Pendleton.

Craft vendors, food vendors, community service programs and more are invited to attend the festival.
